Introducing Nightsky

Those of you who know me personally have probably received my letter announcing my purchase of a car that has become the current love of my life. Here are some photos of it. It is well designed as the poor man’s campervan and has two rows of seats and a bed that folds forward to become a double bed. The back seats can be folded fully forward; the back folds down and then the whole thing folds forward to give extra luggage space. There is storage under the bed and ingenious storage bags that clip on and hang next to the rear set of windows. It is a VW TDI diesel and has great fuel consumption. I have used it now as you can see from the previous post and it drives comfortably and with plenty of power to go almost anywhere. The only thing lacking is four wheel drive but that would have cost a whole lot moStandard Handover Shotre again, without the sleeping capacity this vehicle has.

Here’s the bonus. Nightsky comes with a table, two folding chairs and a tent. The tent attaches onto the tailgate when it is raised up! What a boon. Maybe one day I will use it as a mobile market stall to sell photo and self printed story books and t-shirts with my photos on them and Chinese cloths and artifacts. What a versatile car. As you can tell from my raving on, I am really happy with it. I thought of giving it a funny name but it is a sophisticated blue with metallic sparkles in it and I was inspired to give it the name ‘Nightsky’ so now I will start a blog series, Travels with Nightsky. That’s where you will find the tales of my road travels in Australia.
